Today,this slab protects the earth brought from the pollution of underlying soil , for several tens of "urban gardens" (Organic Gardening), with also a small area of livestock (poultry, rabbits) built by local residents on the initiative of residents and a host of sociocultural, initially in As part of an art project and social development. Many edible plants and flowers are grown by local residents.
Français : « Bruggen naar Rabot » est un nom générique désignant à Gand (Gent, Belgium) plusieurs projets de réhabilitation, de désenclavement et de développement d'un quartier du centre de l'agglomération, mais considéré comme l'un des plus pauvre de Flandre. Dans ce cadre une démarche originale a concerné en 2008-2009 un aménagement d'attente sur une friche du quartier "Rabot-Blaisantvest" ("Rabot-Blaisantvest" (illustrations, avec commentaire en néerlandais) avec, derrière le palais de justice l'établissement d'un vaste Jardin communautaire, à vocation d'agriculture urbaine dont les microparcelles sont posées au sol, sur la dalle de béton qui supportait l'usine Alcatel (site de Gasmeterlaan) aujourd'hui détruite. Cette dalle protège aujourdh'ui la terre rapportée de la pollution du sol sous-jacent, ceci pour plusieurs dizaines de "jardins de dalle" (jardinage bio), avec aussi une petite zone d'élevage (volaille, lapins) construite par les habitants du quartier à l'initiative des habitants et d'une animatrice socioculturelle, initialement dans le cadre d'un projet artistique et social. De nombreux végétaux commestibles et des fleurs y sont cultivés par les habitants du quartier.
