English: 020125-N-9312L-307 Operation Enduring Freedom (Jan. 25, 2002) -- An SH-60F "Seahawk" assigned to the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Eight (HS-8), conducts plane guard maneuvers near the U.S. Navy nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Plane guards provide area surveillance near the ship and search and rescue (SAR) for downed aviators and Sailors lost at sea. The Eightballers are part of Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9) deployed aboard John C. Stennis; both are conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
