Description A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II aircraft from fighter squadron VF-102 Diamondbacks landing on the aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV-62) on 26 September 1979. VF-102 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 6 (CVW-6) for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 28 June to 14 December 1979. Note the hook runner in the left foreground and the guided missile cruiser USS Albany (CG-10) in the right background.
