Cycling was a very popular international sport from the mid 1890s. Bicycles were the first privately owned vehicles which were affordable to most people, for commuting and leisure. The Ipswich Cycle Club are lined up prior to an event around 1910. John George, club supervisor is standing in the doorway. Queensland Museum holds over 1000 of Bert Roberts' plate glass negatives and prints from the era. |
