Summary
Description |
English: Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily (Apr. 3, 2003) -- Electronics Technician 2nd Class Kristian Dillemouth stows a USC-60A satellite dish for the evening as part of a systems operability test of the Joint Mobile Ashore Support Terminal (JMAST) Europe. Three deployable rapid assembly shelters (DRASH) in the background serve as the operations, briefing, and communications centers for JMAST Europe when deployed. JMAST is a self-contained mobile command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence (C4I) center designed to support the Naval component commander in joint operations. JMAST offers commanders secure communications, internet, telephone, television, and radio services while in the field. Naval Air Station Sigonella provides logistical support for Commander Sixth Fleet and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces throughout the Mediterranean Sea.
