Français : Une jeune reine de l'espèce de guêpes sociales Polistes dominula en train de fonder une nouvelle colonie. Le nid est constitué de fibre végétales et de salive. Ici, il ne comporte que quelques alvéoles. Les œufs ont été fertilisés avec du sperme conservé depuis l'année précédente. La reine nourrit sa progéniture avant l'émergence des premières ouvrières.
