"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..."
I recently joined a local camera club and last night there was a 'studio lighting workshop'. We were encouraged to turn up with our gear and not knowing a single thing about studio lighting or portrait work I went along, keen to see what I could learn. The presenter was a wealth of knowledge, and shared what he knew. There was a studio set up and some models and we were given the chance to get some practice in. Having never shot a portrait in my life I was a little nervous, but after some encouragement from my fellow photographers the camera came out of the bag.
I like the soft expression on the models face and I actually like the fact that she is not looking directly at the camera. I chose to process in B&W becuase I felt it was right for the image.
This is the first portrait I have ever taken and processed, so any critique is more than welcome. Any tips or advice with regards to the processing of portraits is also more than welcome and if anybody has any books or articles that they would recomend on the subject I would love to hear.
