  1. Most probably, the painting is the portrait of Pyotr Aleksandrovich Bulakhov (1793–1835), a Russian opera singer. The reproduction on the stamp is named as “The Portrait of P.A. Bulakhov”.
  2. E.I. Karzinkina (née Medvedkova) was a member of the Russian merchant family Karzinkin, the first wife of Ivan Ivanovich Karzinkin (1825 — ca. 1881), a merchant of the top guild, a tea dealer and also a paper manufacturer, the co-owner of Balashikha Paper Manufactory.
