Description

This photo was taken at Bessborough House, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny in 1908 (maybe on Monday 28 September).

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to try to reconstruct who some of these men and women are - from dress or uniform, from the 1901 census, newspapers, etc.

It may not be possible, or we might hit the mother lode, and have a relative identify someone. Either way, think it's a great snapshot in time of Big House life in Ireland, and what the hell - even if we only find out more about Bessborough House (owned by the Ponsonby family), that's good too.
