US WW2 Helmet with Parachute First Aid Packet. The Parachute First Aid Packet was issued to all American paratroopers. The contents of the packet could vary, but it almost always contained a wound dressing, a tourniquet (to stop heavy bleeding), and morphine. Many soldiers wore the packet on a conspicuous location such as on their helmet or on their chest, so that first aid could be quickly administrated should anything happen to them. De Parachute First Aid Packet werd aan alle Amerikaanse parachutisten gegeven. Het pakketje kende meerdere samenstellingen maar bevatte vrijwel altijd een wondverband, een tourniquet (een knelverband om hevige bloedingen te stoppen) en morfine. Veel soldaten droegen dit eerste-hulp-setje op een opvallende plek zoals op hun helm of op hun borst zodat er snel hulp kon worden geboden als er iets met hen gebeurde.
