Description |
Die „Wirgin Kamerawerke“ wurden 1924 von den jüdischen Brüdern Wirgin in Wiesbaden gegründet und existierten bis 1971. 1938 musste das Werk unter dem Druck der Nazis an ADOX verkauft werden, 1945 wurde es an die rechtmäßigen Besitzer zurückgegeben. In den 50ern produzierte Wirgin preisgünstige Kleinbild-Sucherkameras, u. a. die abgebildete Edixa. Sie hatte ein „Ennagon 2,8/45 mm“ (Dreilinser) und einen Pronto-Verschluss. Baujahr war 1954. Die Gebrüder Wirgin stellten auch die in den 60ern recht bekannten Edixa-Spiegelreflexkameras her (meine erste Spiegelreflex war eine „Edixa Prismaflex TTL“). Obwohl durch den Schlitzverschluss „moderner“ als die Voigtländer und Zeiss-Ikon-Pendants, waren sie Ende des Jahrzehnts gegen die Japaner nicht mehr konkurrenzfähig. 1971 musste die Produktion eingestellt werden. |
