Deutsch: Ansichtskarte mit der Nummer 648 eines anonymen Fotografen (siehe Rückseite der Karte); zu sehen ist eine belebte Szene am (heute so genannten) Kröpke mit Blick auf das Wiener Café im Haus Heinemann, 1863 von Edwin Oppler für den Bankier Heinemann errichtet als eines der ersten Gebäude am Platz. Das Haus unter der (seinerzeitigen) Adresse Georgstraße 28/Ecke Bahnhofstraße wurde um 1900 von der Bodega Continental Companie, die auch auf dem Dach des Nachbargebäudes an der Ecke Große Packhofstraße ihre Firmenwerbung platzierte, für ihre "Probirstube" genutzt. Im Erdgeschoss hatte der Großschlachter Emil Vollrath eine Filiale. Beide Eckgebäude wurden durch die Luftangriffen auf Hannover im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört und dann durch das heute denkmalgeschützte Kaufhaus Magis ersetzt. In dem Eckgebäude links im Hintergrund waren Daube & Co. mit ihrer American Expedition untergebracht sowie die August Scherl GmbH. Dort vertrieb auch der Norddeutsche Lloyd seine Reisen per Dampfschifffahrt nach Amerika, Afrika und Asien.
