Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendour.

The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its baroque and rococo city center.

The image was taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera and a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens.

The image was taken in August 2013.
