Строителството на сградата започва през 1880 година при управлението на Александър I Батенберг по проект на архитект Виктор Румпелмайер. По времето на Цар Фердинанд е добавено допълнително крило по проект на архитекта Фридрих Грюнангер.
English: The former Royal Palace in Sofia, nowadays National Art Gallery. The building was constructed in two stages starting in 1880, during Knyaz Alexander Battenberg rule, under the design by the architect Viktor Rumpelmayer. Additional wing was added by the architect Friedrich Grünanger during Tsar Ferdinand I rule.
Français : L'ancien palais royal de Sofia, aujourd'hui la Galerie Nationale d'Art. Ce bâtiment a été construit en deux étapes à partir de 1880, sous le règne du prince Alexandre Ier de Bulgarie. Une seconde aile a été ajoutée par Friedrich Grünanger sous le règne de Ferdinand Ier.
