Rugaba Kanani, Chief of Naval Personnel, Lt. Mario Freeman, Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group Two, Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Sullivan, Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, Electronics Technician 1st Class Dominique Taylor, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Senior Chief Cryptologic Technician Technical James Harris, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and Lt. William Spann, Nuclear Prototype Training Unit were presented excellence in engineering awards at the Modern Technology Leadership Luncheon at the Baltimore Convention Center. The luncheon took place during the 21st Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) Conference. BEYA recognizes excellence in engineering for government and civilian organizations, and is one of the largest diversity events the Navy participates in annually. Commander Naval Recruiting Command (CNRC) Diversity Department and Navy Recruiting District Philadelphia sponsored a booth at the career fair helping build community relations, diversity and minority in recruiting and to encourage young students to consider a career in the Navy.
