English: Caribbean Sea (Aug. 28, 2006) - A Colombian helicopter pilot lines up for landing aboard the Colombian frigate ARC (Armada Republica de Colombia) Antioquia (FL 53) during exercise PANAMAX 2006. Civil, naval and air forces from 18 countries have gathered in Panama to conduct the multi-national training event for the defense of the Panama Canal. The exercise is being conducted from Aug. 24-31, 2006, in the Caribbean and Pacific approaches to the Canal. PANAMAX 2006 is the latest in a series of exercise designed to preserve the security and neutrality of the Panama Canal by Joint, Combined multinational force. Once at sea, Multinational Force Panama will carry out a carefully planned series of events that train the force in a spectrum of potential threats to the Panama Canal.
