Description |
Halima Ahmed Ali’s baby, Markaba, is less than 40 days old. In her village of Hadado there is one water point, but nowhere near enough water for the community. Only about a third of the village is receiving aid and even that is only 75% of the ration they are meant to receive. "This morning I was not able to cook because the borehole is very low. I couldn't cook because I didn't have water. My husband is not here and the only food that we get is relief food. My mother is the only one registered so what my mother has is what we are sharing amongst ourselves. We don't have money to buy food or water. We have to pay 20 shillings for a 20 litre jerry can of water. 12 people are sharing the food my mother gets. My husband has gone to south Wajir because we were told that is has rained there...but I am not sure." |
