English: T. crocea is the smallest of the Tridacnidae, reaching a maximum shell size of 15cm. It lives embedded in corals and occurs from southern Japan, south to Australia and east to Palau. It was reported by Wells (1997) as still reasonably abundant, although possibly extinct in Guam and the Northern Marianas. Globally IUCN classifies the conservation status of T. crocea as
