Leaves simple, quiteentire, opposite or verticillate.—Trees, shrubs, or herbs ; nativesgenerally of the tropics ; the properties principally tonic. BOUVAEDIA. Gen. Char. (Tetrandria Monogynia.) Calyx four-leaved, withsome teeth between; corolla tubular; anthers included; capsuletwo-parted, with many seeds, which are edged. Named after Dr. Bouvard, a French botanist.
