English: ARABIAN SEA (Aug. 31, 2010) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 3rd Class Lavon Jackson, from Gadsden, Ala., checks water pressure and temperature gauges in a catapult room aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Catapults, which are used to launch aircraft from the flight deck, require more than 5,000 gallons of water for proper operation. Harry S. Truman is deployed as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
