Description

La silouhette du Parlement dominant le Danube est devenue l'une des images les plus connues de la capitale hongroise. Bâti exclusivement avec des matériaux hongrois (colonnes en marbre exceptées), il fut terminé en 1904 après 17 longues années de construction. C'était à l'époque le plus grand parlement du monde. Il ne compte pas moins de 691 salles. L'architecte s'est inspiré du parlement de Londres, intégrant des éléments byzantins et néogothiques. Le soir, illuminé, il prend des allures de palais vénitien au bord du Danube, surtout noyé dans la brume.
