Description |
English: San Antonio, Texas (Nov. 8, 2006) - Chief Master-at-Arms Ed Stift shares coins and talks with a young girl at Methodist Children's Hospital. Stift and several members of the crew from USS San Antonio (LPD 17) visited kids at area hospitals, part of the Caps for Kids program, handing out ball caps, coins and sharing personal shipboard experiences. The crew is in San Antonio participating in the final of 24 Navy Weeks carried out in 2006. Navy Week is sponsored by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) and is coordinated with local recruiting districts. The events are held in cities across the country in an effort to increase Navy awareness in cities without a large Navy presence. U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class L.A.
