Michael Gordon, receives from Chairman of Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners, Gordon Thomson, a copy of the local newspaper from April 1778 when John Paul Jones successfully attacked the port, during the Whitehaven Maritime Festival. The festival commerates the British & American Naval connections when John Paul Jones successfully attacked this port, the last time England has been invaded since 1778, along with the 60th anniversary celebrations remembering World War II.
