English: Portrait of Lawrence Challoner Garratt, aged five years six months, seated cross legged in a river landscape, wearing a velvet suit and coloured sash.
English: An oil-on-canvas portrait of Lt. Col. Lawrence Challoner Garratt (1868–1946), O.B.E., J.P., of Bishops Court, Devon, England, UK, as a child. Garratt was the grandnephew-in-law of Col. Thomas-Chaloner Bisse-Challoner, after whom he was partly named.
Date 1874.
Medium oil on canvas.
