Photo's description:

Housing development needs in Newcastle-upon-Tyne defined appearance of the idea of construction in the area Christon Road. Now at this site the Gosforth Metro Depot is located, and on the southern borders ground Metro tracks are laid. The optimal distance from residential buildings to railway lines on the surface - 100 m (328 ft). It provides a safe for the health noise level and electromagnetic radiation. When placing the railway tracks in the excavation - the optimal distance could be reduced to 50 m (164 ft). The shorter distance between the houses and the ground railway lines – existing built-up areas - does not provide healthy living. These areas should be gradually reconstruct (transfer tracks to tunnels - the best option). Placing the railway tracks under the surface makes the distance to them nearly not affect the comfort of living. In accordance with this, the fork on the site Metro tracks "South Gosforth - Regent Centre - Longbenton" (subject to the transfer Metro Depot to another place) may be divided into three zones for optimal construction. The Red zone - a site located 100 meters from the existing ground tracks. The area of 6000 square yards. The best option for economic benefit - a 30-storey high-rise apartment building-tower (from 4 to 30 floors have wonderful panoramic views from the windows of each apartment, the Luxury new Urban dominant). The Blue zone - a site located 50 meters from new Metro tracks, which need to build in excavation. The area of 25,000 square yards. The best option for economic benefit - a group of 5-storey residential buildings. The Green zone - a site located directly at the new Metro tracks, which need to be built in tunnels. The area of 60,000 square yards. The best option for economic benefit - a complex of two-storey row houses with plots. Option of new Metro tracks in tunnels and construction of tunnels for the connection of "Regent Centre - Longbenton" (improving access to the Airport) i
