Physical descrip: 1 photoprint b&w 8 x 10 in. Series Title: (Reference collection) General Note: Cristened 'Columbus', the aircraft shown was an aeromarine model 75 flying boat. Each model 75 was a conversion of a Curtiss F-5L or Curtiss H-16 maritime patrol aircraft originally built for the U.S. Navy. As war surplus these aircraft were bought and remodeled, some in the company's own workshops. General Note: During prohibition there were daily flights in the winter season to Bimini, the nearest "wet" spot to the U.S. Date/place captured: Photographed on January 17, 1922. Corporate subject: Aeromarine Airways. Subject term: Seaplanes. Geographic term: Florida.
