Summary

Description A U.S. Navy A-6A Intruder (BuNo 155632) pictured on the assembly line at Grumman Corporation in Calverton, New York (USA), during its coversion to the A-6E configuration of the aircraft. The A-6E entered service in 1971, and conversion of some A-6As to the more modern configuration commenced in 1973.
The A-6E 155632 was shot down by Iraqi flak of Faylaka island 45 km north-east the off the coast of Kuwait City on 2 February 1991. The crew from Attack Squadron VA-36 was killed.
