Nederlands: Repronegatief. Timor is in de wereldgeschiedenis van de laatste decennia vooral bekend geworden door Oost-Timor. De kwestie tussen Oost-Timor en de Republiek Indonesië was een kwestie die terugging op een verdeling van invloedssferen op het eiland in de 17e eeuw tussen de VOC en de Portugezen. De Nederlanders hadden hun 'factorij' (later meestal 'residentie' genoemd) te Koepang gevestigd. Timor leverde vooral sandelhout, een product dat zowel de VOC als de Portugezen interesseerde, maar verder zat de VOC vooral in Koepang om de Portugezen in het oostelijk deel van Timor in de gaten te houden. Op de foto is de tweede persoon van links de Radja van Koepang, gezeten naast zendeling Bunte. (P. Boomgaard, 2001).
