Photo's description:
Empire, LA, 3-13-06 -- US Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) (Center right) thanks Wayne & Nancy Weikd, FEMA Community Relations Special Project Liaison Officers for the Fishing Industry of Plaquemines Parish for FEMA's efforts in assisting with getting the 60-ton Marine Travelift (background) to Empire, LA after a 4.500 mile journey from Alaska. The City of Valdez donated the 60-ton Marine Travelift to Plaquemine Parish in response to the devastation wreaked by last year's hurricanes which destroyed 90% of the fishing fleet.
