|Description||Charles Brandon, detail of potrait of Princess Mary Tudor and Charles Brandon, duke of Suffolk, c. 1516, attributed to Jan Mabuse. There are two versions of this double portrait celebrating the marriage of Mary Tudor to her brother's closest friend. They wed secretly in 1515, a mere six weeks after her first husband's death. Mary was passionately in love and willing to risk her brother's wrath. Brandon was in love and very ambitious. Their granddaughter was the unfortunate 'Nine Days Queen', Lady Jane Grey. Brandon is wearing the collar of the Order of the Garter|

The official position taken by the Wikimedia Foundation is that "faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are public domain, and that claims to the contrary represent an assault on the very concept of a public domain". For details, see Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
