Oil Well, near Wareham, Dorset. Wytch Farm is EuropeВ’s largest onshore oil field and the main part is to be found at SY97584. The pumps for the oil are known as В‘nodding donkeysВ’. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wytch_Farm
Oil Well. This nodding donkey has been pumping oil here for as many years as I can remember. This one has survived where some of the others in the area have now been removed.

Oil Well - Worgret. This photograph is taken from almost the same spot as 165841 looking north. Believe it or not you are looking directly at an oil well with four nodding donkeys and associated equipment which is very well concealed in the copse beyond the ploughed field.
Oil Pumps. These two nodding donkeys are working but are also joined by a number of others which appear to be on standby as spares.
Nodding Donkeys. Difficult to see in this picture but the nodding donkey on the right was the only one pumping oil at the time.
Missing Oil Pump. This is the site of a former oil well which has now been cleared other than a small part of the pipework and the warning signs.

These are three of several petroleum tankers that were waiting at anchor in Scapa Flow. Protected by the scattered layout of the Orkney Islands, Scapa Flow provides a deep, calm anchorage at the fringe of what can often be a very turbulent North Sea. As such, the North Sea oil industry has infrastructure set up in Scapa Flow to allow supertankers to sail through stopping only to conduct offshore petroleum loading via mooring buoys, ship-to-ship transfers, or at the pipeline terminal/refinery. For this picture, the camera is located between Kirkwall and St. Mary on Mainland, Orkney Islands
The guided missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) in the back conducts patrols near to the Iraqi Al Basra Oil Terminal (ABOT) in the Northern Arabian Gulf. Mobile Bay is a part of USS Essex (LHD 2) Expeditionary Strike Group Three (ESG-3) currently on deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). The tankers include
