Schmidt with Fire Support Team, Kilo Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion 2nd Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, calls in an artillery mission for an M-777 155mm howitzer during a Fire Support Coordination Exercise aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, on November 20, 2008. The FSCEX took place in order to give the Marines the training they need to effectively call in artillery, naval gunfire, mortars or air support.
