Nederlands: Eikenhouten vitrinekast, Nederland (Maastricht), Tweede kwart 18e eeuw

Beschrijving: Buffetvitrinekast bestaande uit een onderstel met twee deuren en afgeronde hoeken. De kleinere bovenkast heeft eveneens twee deuren en daarin, in de zijkanten en op de hoeken, ruiten gevat in een ajourgesneden omlijsting metrocailles en florale motieven. De kast wordt bekroond door een ajourgesneden rocaille. Deze Luikse vitrinekast is een typisch voorbeeld van de Luikse Régence-stijl welke in het tweede kwart van de achttiende eeuw tot bloei is gekomen. De opengewerkte bovenkast en de afgeronde hoeken maken de kast tot een deel van de wand. Typisch voor de Luikse (en Maastrichtse) vitrinekast is het feit dat de bovenkast smaller en ondieper is dan de onderkast. Overigens blijkt dit exemplaar bij nadere beschouwing Maastrichts van origine, zoals blijkt uit het ‘tafelpootmotief’ dat verschillende keren is toegevoegd.

In de vitrine staat o.a.:

- 18e eeuws Maastrichts zilver, “chine de comande” (Chinees porselein begin 18e eeuw). - Verschillend 17e en 18e eeuws glasservies. - Waaronder fraaie 18e eeuwse Hollandse karaffen.
