Summaryedit

Description
English: The western part of the town of Sète from the forest of Sète on the Mount Saint-Clair.
In the background, the beach and the sandspit between the Mediterranean Sea, on the left, and the Étang de Thau, on the right, whitch connect Sète and Marseillan.
A bit of history: The buildings in the foreground are built in a former limestones quarry (the Ramassis quarry which extracted limestones of the Jurassic). This former quarry was used during the Second World War by German as deposit of ammunition. At the end of the war, when the Germans had left, "freed" blew up this ammunition dump. One of the members of my family, who lived not far from there, (center left on the photo), and who was not hurt during all the war, this day lost an eye by receiving a fragment caused by this explosion.
Sète, Hérault, France.
