Description Air Force Second Lieutenant Forrest M. Mims (center) explains his infrared obstacle-sensing device to nine-year-old Le Quang Manh of the Saigon School for Blind Boys. The school director, a Vietnam Army Major who was blinded in combat, is on the left. Mims invented the device while attending Texas A&M.
