The Midwife's Vade Mecum, Aristotle
English: This handbook was used as \"pocket-book\" from which pages were removed for easier reference.

This cheaply produced publication was commonly printed and domestically owned from the 18th century onward, originally issued for actual midwife use. In the nineteenth century the quality of publishing improved and the book size shrunk to a pocket size.

Title on spine impressed in gold: 'ARISTOTLE'S WORKS - COLOURED PAGES - NEW & REVISED EDITION WITH ADDITIONAL PLATES". Gold is worn, lines and cherub image under text.

Collection ID: 1999:159
