From the Danish "Punch" magazine (not the British Punch) nr. 13 Marts 1885.
Depicts a teenage* girl who has just been promoted to her first "grown-up" outfit (complete with the bustle fashionable in the mid-1880s), which she is proudly showing off to her sisters.
- The teenages do not exist in Denmark at that era. She is a konfirmand, and a konfirmand is a newly confirmed person, which was of age and was grown-up.
Poem in image:
- I går jeg fik min trøje,
- og strax jeg tog den på.
- Den stråled' for mit øje,
- når jeg i spejlet såe.
- Tournuren har jeg prøvet,
- den trykker mig så småt,
- men når jeg først bli'ver øvet,
- så klæ'er den mig nok godt.
(Frit efter [Peter] Faber.)
