Description en: In November of 1833 the party in which Bodmer was travelling stopped to camp along the Missouri. Source Aquatint engraving with original hand coloring: „Encampment of the Travellers on the Missouri“ by Karl Bodmer from his travel to the United States 1833-1834, printed with hand coloring 1839-1841 in the book "Reisen in das innere Nordamerikas 1832-1834", Vignette 23. In November of 1833 the party in which Bodmer was travelling stopped to camp along the Missouri. This auto-biographical scene shows Bodmer and Maxmilian setting camp along the river. Seen in the boat are the cages which held the bear cubs Maxmilian intended to bring back to Germany.
