Situado en el cuerpo central del Monumento a Alfonso XII de España de los Jardines del Buen Retiro de Madrid, erigido entre 1902 y 1922. En el centro, el Rey ayuda a un hombre sentado en el suelo, junto a la figura femenina de la Caridad. A la derecha, Cupido representa el amor, y la madre con su hijo el amor materno. La figura femenina cubierta de flores de la izquierda podría simbolizar la Paz.
