Description Verdun-Kaserne in Giessen (Rivers-Barracks)
Français : caserne Verdun, (construit en 1936) du 20th Engineers, déployé en Allemagne par les américains suite à la Crise de Berlin de 1961-1963, et plus précisément suite à une mise en alerte ( alert order ) d'octobre 1961 motivée par la construction du mur de Berlin. Le bataillon (moins les compagnies B et C), était rattaché au "11th Engineer Group", de la 7e Armée. Le quartier général et les chefs de compagnies étaient basés à Giessen, alors que la compagnie A était rattachée à la brigade de Berlin. Depuis, le site a été rendu aux autorités locales allemandes (contenu de légende à vérifier)
